The upright-and-attentive posture can't help but make Tony smile a little before it's hidden by the coffee cup. Good to know that whatever this is ranks up there with getting chewed out by Fury. But the expression fades in favor of something more serious as he puts the cup back down.

"I guess that's the first thing," he says carefully, taking a moment to really weigh his words for once. Tony has a bad tendency to just blurt out whatever's on his mind, but even he knows that's not going to work here. The last thing they need is to get into a screaming match over something stupid.

"What's in this for you?" It's not accusative. More like confused. "I don't...really get what you'd be getting out of it." And if it's just for Tony's sake...he can do without being a pity fuck for a friend.
