Clark couldn't really argue. Supposedly it was safer to keep dangerous criminals in that state, but he'd seen the flaws in Krypton's justice system and found himself... questioning it. Human systems had their flaws, but innocent until proven guilty, rehabilitation as a goal? He could get behind that.

"Envious? Well, if I'm here for any length of time once things quiet down, we'll have to go on a flight. You can show me what's fun around here." While some of his team worried about the propensity for trouble, Clark tended to trust easily with how he believed in the underlying good of people. And Steve definitely struck him as good people, so he had no problem with the casual friendly offer.

"I wouldn't be the man I am today without my parents." Clark replied simply with a fond smile. "Kryptonian or human."

He knew he wouldn't be a bad person if he was raised by his Kryptonian parents, but at the same time he felt there was something more gained in being raised by the Kents. Something intrinsically human that taught him to hope easily and believe in the better nature of others. "Just point me where you need me."

He'd definitely be useful in cleanup efforts, beyond speed and flight, not that Steve realized that yet.
