Steve has good hearing, thanks to the serum, where he was deaf in one ear before--it's not supernormal, just on the upper end of the spectrum of decent human auditory skills--but he wishes it was better, so he could catch every little nuance of that laughing fit. Bucky sounds so...unburdened. Relieved, in the deeper sense of the word. He wants him to feel that way for the rest of his life.
