"Don't see why not," he says gently. "You're not all that forthcoming, but I've seen you stripped down emotionally, more than once. I'm guessing most people don't get to see you when you're hurting."

Except for the ones that he allows to hurt him, and they're not looking.

"We're more than the sum of our actions and the things people do to us," he adds softly. "The things we feel say a lot about who we are, too."
